The "Big Five" Exhibition Kicks Off in Dubai with More Than 3,100 Exhibitors

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, officially opened the 37th edition of The Big 5 exhibition—which shares its venue with the Middle East Concrete (MEC) and PMV Live exhibitions—yesterday, Monday. Thousands of construction industry professionals gathered at the Dubai World Trade Center to discover new and innovative construction products from around the world during the first day of the Middle East’s largest, most influential, and renowned construction industry exhibition.

3,100 exhibitors

The Big 5 is hosting more than 3,100 exhibitors this year, showcasing thousands of never-before-seen solutions for the construction industry. The exhibition runs from November 21 to 24, 2016, at the Dubai World Trade Center, and is expected to welcome more than 73,000 visitors from 140 countries over its four days.

The Construction Excellence Summit will bring together 500 industry leaders to discuss current and future trends in the construction sector in Dubai, the Gulf Cooperation Council region, and beyond.

The Largest Construction Exhibition

In this context, His Excellency Al Hamli said, “The Big 5 is the largest construction exhibition in the Middle East, and its summit is a valuable opportunity for all stakeholders seeking to advance the construction industry,” His Excellency Al Hamli added, commenting on the strategic partnership between the Dubai Economic Council and both The Big 5 2016 and the Construction Excellence Summit “We are proud to endorse The Big 5 2016 and the Construction Excellence Summit.”

The summit will also host the CEO of Expo 2020 Dubai, Najib Al Ali, who will provide an overview of the highly anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai. “We are confident that The Big 5 and the Construction Excellence Summit will positively support Dubai’s vision,” said Josine Heegmans, Director of Events.

Diverse Solutions

For the first time ever, Microsoft will exhibit at the show, showcasing devices and solutions designed to empower organizations in the construction sector. On November 23, The Big 5"s Gaia Awards will honor companies in the construction sector whose products and services have demonstrated a reduction in the environmental impact of construction. The exhibition will also host more than 80 free, CPD-accredited workshops,
