The activities of the Fourth Gulf Laboratory Competence Conference, organized by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) in cooperation with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Gulf Accreditation Center, will kick off on Tuesday in Riyadh under the patronage of Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, and will continue until tomorrow.
The activities of the conference will be held at the main headquarters of the Standards Commission in the city of Riyadh.
The activities of the first day will witness a dialogue session entitled (Accreditation is a global tool to support public policies) chaired by the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), Dr. Peter Unger, President of the International Laboratory Accreditation Organization (ILAC), Wang Wah Wong, President of the Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization (APLAC), and Engineer Aiman Al-Makki, Advisor to the Governor of the Standards Authority for Accreditation Affairs."
The first day's events will witness a panel discussion entitled "Accreditation as a Global Tool to Support Public Policies" chaired by the Governor of SASO.
While the Director General of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, M. Herbert Schorn, Director General of the International Product Safety Institute in Germany, Anil Al Jauhari of the National Accreditation Board of India, Jonathan Murthy, Director of Marketing, UK Accreditation Services Center, and M. Saleh Al Omari, CEO of Laboratory Company, will chair the second panel discussion titled "Technical Legislation to Support Laboratory Efficiency". Saleh Al-Omari, CEO of Gulf Laboratory Company, while the second day of the conference will witness two panel discussions on strengthening the quality infrastructure, chaired by Nabil bin Amin Mulla, Secretary General of the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO).
