The Conference on Investment and Financing for Educational Facilities Highlights Investment Opportunities and Innovative Financial Solutions

With the participation of Amlak Real Estate Newspaper, the “Conference on Investment and Financing for Educational Buildings” will kick off tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10. The program includes six sessions as well as several workshops spread over two days at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Riyadh.

Ahmed Al-Anzi, Chairman of the conference’s organizing committee, explained that the event is open to all interested parties, and that seats have been reserved specifically for women participants.

Opening Session: An Environment Attractive to Investors

The opening session, titled “An Environment Attractive to Investors in the Education Sector in Line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” will discuss several topics centered on the Kingdom’s economic trends, prospects for partnerships with the private sector in education, the importance of high-quality educational facilities in the national development framework, and the role of government agencies in strengthening the regulatory environment.

Session 1: Investment Opportunities and Options

The first session, titled “Investment and Financing Opportunities and Options in Educational Buildings,” will focus on several topics, including government support for privatization programs and public-private partnerships (PPP) in the field of educational buildings and facilities, as well as leasing and subleasing opportunities. LLB, as well as opportunities for construction, maintenance, and transportation (BMT) in partnership with the private sector (PPP).

Session 2: The Role of Waqfs

The second session, titled “Endowments to Support and Finance Investment in Education,” will highlight pioneering experiences in the field of endowments and discuss the regulatory environment supporting endowments in the field of education

Session 3: The Role of Government-Owned Enterprises

The third session, to be held on the second day, will focus on the role of state-owned enterprises in driving development and fostering an attractive investment environment

Session 4: Innovative Solutions for Investment and Financing

The fourth session, titled “Innovative Solutions for Investment and Financing in Educational Facilities,” will focus on encouraging the private sector to participate in developing modern investment approaches.

Closing Session: Industrial Investment Opportunities

The closing session will discuss industrial investment opportunities in educational facilities.

New Investment Channels

Ahmed Al-Anzi, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, notes that the conference will open new investment channels to provide educational facilities and leverage the resources of the Ministry of Education by targeting several groups, including investors and developers in the education sector and professionals in the real estate sector—both locally and regionally— as well as companies and financial institutions, offering long-term programs and solutions with appropriate returns for the target audiences.” He explained that the most significant investment opportunities to be presented at the conference are those related to mechanisms for financing school construction through the leasing of existing educational buildings in exchange for upfront payments, and their subsequent subleasing in exchange for annual payments, The conference will also present lease and sublease programs, partnership mechanisms with the private sector, partnerships with the private education sector, and asset investment mechanisms.
