The Ministry of Justice recently returned land in the Qatif Governorate to state ownership, with an estimated area of approximately 2,600,000 square meters, by revoking a deed that had been applied to the state-owned land, Press sources explained that the decision came after a thorough review of all aspects of the deed, and following a court ruling to revoke the deed and have it invalidated at the Qatif Notary Public Office, given that the procedures for its issuance were conducted in violation of the law, and to prevent private ownership of coastal lands along the Kingdom’s entire coastline.

It clarified that the Ministry of Justice will continue its approach of tracking down and revoking non-compliant deeds in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz—may God preserve him— to preserve citizens" rights, protect government facilities from theft, return any land that has been unlawfully appropriated from a public facility, and strictly prohibit the application of title deeds to any public facilities, as these belong to all citizens and must not be converted to private ownership under any pretext.

Sources confirmed that the Minister of Justice has issued strict instructions to enforce the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques —may God support him—which mandate the protection of the state’s public property and citizens" private property from any encroachments or violations, while ensuring absolute precision in the issuance of legal documents and investigating all instances of fraud, forgery, and manipulation, and to rectify every violation to its proper state—including returning land that has been unlawfully seized to state ownership, ensuring it remains designated for its intended purpose, and holding accountable and bringing to justice every manipulator or forger who has dared to defy state regulations and usurped the rights of citizens.
