Training course at Qassim Chamber calls for compliance with international trade standards and barcodes

The Secretary-General of Qassim Chamber, Ziad Al-Mashiqeh, stressed during a training and introductory course held at the Chamber in cooperation with the Saudi Numbering Center at the Council of Chambers on barcode applications according to the standards of the World Organization, that the new global system of trade has eliminated the barriers and restrictions that were hindering it and the movement of global trade has become easier, organized and legalized and it is necessary to use technology in product data of any kind, noting that the product not linked to technology is threatened with failure and extinction.

Participants stressed that barcodes accelerate trade operations, reduce risks and help save and store all information and data related to the product and that with the diversity of uses and fields, new types and forms have appeared. <Participants in the course noted that barcodes accelerate business processes, reduce risks and help save and store all information and data related to the product and that with the diversity of its uses and fields, new types and forms appeared and its storage capacity became more than two thousand numbers and moved from the field of product identification to the stage of use in product tracking systems. The course indicated that barcodes are an essential tool for e-commerce methods and achieve legislative and legal requirements in international trade, as they contribute effectively in raising the level of performance of all operations, and that each product has its own barcode number, which is like a genetic code, in addition to the genetic code of the product. The course was presented by Thamer Osama bin Talib, coordinator of the center, and Ibrahim Assaf, director of technology and information at the center, and dealt with the historical framework and aimed to help companies, institutions and distributors and introduce them to the importance of barcodes, their types, areas of use, mechanisms to ensure the quality of printing and global standards for granting and distributing numbers and how to create them for services and products.
