The Shura Council has sharply criticized the Ministry of Housing for the delayed completion of its projects. The Hajj, Housing and Services Committee demanded that the ministry provide justifications for the reasons for the delay, and stressed the need to take the necessary measures to ensure that these projects are completed on time, and remove obstacles to provide direct loans to citizens through the Real Estate Development Fund.

The committee said in its report, which will be discussed by the Council on 6 Jumada II, that the ministry has not achieved what is required in terms of providing the required numbers of housing, has not contributed to raising the quality of housing, has not improved the level of affordability of citizens in obtaining decent housing, has not achieved the basic requirement and has been unable to provide housing units in all regions of the Kingdom, and what has been achieved is a very small percentage despite the decisions and demands of the Shura Council in this regard since the establishment of the General Housing Authority.

The committee called on the ministry to justify the reasons for the delays.
