In its endeavor to develop commercial and investment regulations, the ministry has so far completed 12 laws and regulations related to the Companies Law, regulations for joint stock companies, regulations for Saudi foreign business councils, and the executive regulations of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Law, while 30 draft laws and regulations are being developed in the fields of companies, trade and investment, consumer protection, free and consulting professions, and intellectual property: Companies, Trade and Investment, Consumer Protection, Free and Consulting Professions, and Intellectual Property, as part of its initiative to develop systems and regulations for the Ministry's sectors. The most prominent of these are the commercial system, bankruptcy system, commercial mortgage system, commercial franchise system, e-commerce system, consumer protection system, professional companies system, free professions system, and company system regulations.
<In this regard, the “Development of the Ministry's Systems and Regulations” initiative, one of the Ministry's initiatives for the National Transformation Program 2020, aims to facilitate doing business, reduce the cost of procedures, provide flexibility, transparency and stability for enterprises, ensure fair and impartial practices for commercial transactions, provide a stimulating environment to expand investments, and take care of the conditions of small and medium enterprises to develop their business and enhance their sustainable growth opportunities by preparing diagnostic studies to investigate the challenges facing them. It is also guided by the expertise of major international houses specialized in this field, and holding multiple workshops with the participation of specialists and experts.
