This came during his participation in the third Saudi Investment and Securities Conference Organized by the Riyadh Chamber, represented by the Investment and Securities Committee, during the period from 22-23 Jumada II 1438H to 21-22 March 2017, a gathering of economic and investment experts and specialists in the Kingdom's capital markets, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Prince Abdullah confirmed that 14 Saudi clubs will be privatized within three years, referring to five clubs that will be privatized within the coming months.

The head of the General Sports Authority said that they are in the process of inviting local investors to enter the privatization process and we will set a minimum value for each club and if one of the applicants does not achieve the minimum value, we will not privatize the club, explaining that the first phase will be for Saudi individuals only, and if there is difficulty, there will be another opinion.
