The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs issued approximately 129,000 building permits in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the year 1437 AH, representing a slight decrease of 0.4 % compared to the year 1436 AH.

According to data released by the Statistics Authority, the total area covered by these permits was approximately 435.4 million square meters, with uses distributed across residential, commercial, and industrial purposes, as well as education, healthcare, mosques, and others.

The Makkah region ranked first in terms of the number of building permits issued, with 35,600 permits, followed by the Riyadh region with 28,100 permits.
