Sales by local cement companies fell by 41.1% in June to reach 2.08 million tons, compared to sales of 3.50 million tons recorded during the same month in 2016, according to data released by Yamama Cement Company.

The information indicates that the decline in sales was due to the start of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The 2017 sales figures included those of “Umm al-Qura Cement” and ”United Cement” due to their recent commencement of commercial operations; excluding their sales, the total sales of the 15 companies declined by 45,100 tons.
