Yesterday, the Shura Council approved the draft Value-Added Tax (VAT) law and emphasized the need to implement the Unified Citizen Account Program before the law takes effect. This came during a session of the Council chaired by Vice Chairman Dr. Muhammad bin Amin al-Jafri.
In his report to the Council on the draft Value-Added Tax (VAT) law, His Excellency Mr. Osama Al-Rabiah, Chairman of the Finance Committee, noted that the law is based on the Unified Value-Added Tax Agreement for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which has been signed.
