In the presence of the Ministers of Economy, Labor, Housing and Communications Statistics Authority launches the National Statistical Indicators Bank

His Excellency Dr. Fahad Al-Takheefi, President of the General Authority for Statistics, affirmed that the National Statistical Data Program “Masdar” operates along three main dimensions; He noted that the program serves as a repository of national statistical indicators to support decision-makers and policymakers.

This announcement was made during the program’s launch ceremony in Jeddah, attended by His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Planning, Engineer Adel bin Mohammed Faqih, His Excellency the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis; His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi; His Excellency the Minister of Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail; and His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawah.

Al-Takhefi expressed his appreciation for the attendance and participation of Their Excellencies the ministers, emphasizing that the program implemented by the General Authority for Statistics is in accordance with the requirements of royal decrees and sound directives to establish a comprehensive system of national statistical databases across various fields, and to establish a centralized information system at the Authority at the national level that is automatically linked to all relevant entities to serve as a key support for decision-makers.

His Excellency the President of the General Authority for Statistics outlined the scope of the program, which is represented by the “Statistical Compendium.” It addresses the multiplicity and inconsistency of data sources and statistical indicators, the diversity of their classifications, and their collection through traditional methods. The National Statistical Data Program “Masdar” to establish a collaborative effort with all relevant entities to standardize statistical data and indicators on a platform that brings together all data, information, and indicators from various internal and external sources in one place, in addition to the accessibility and dissemination dimension, which will address the limited access to time-series data and alleviate some of the difficulties faced by data users and researchers in accessing it.

He noted that the third dimension of this program is the technical aspect, as ”Masdar” is a secure and comprehensive technical solution that addresses the sheer volume of statistical data and the lack of centralized data repositories, serving as a national bank for statistical data and providing a variety of analytical tools that meet the needs of all users, including analysts, researchers, and decision-makers.

His Excellency stated that “Masdar” is a unified portal for presenting data from various sources in the form of actionable information and diverse digital formats within an integrated information system that provides advanced communication mechanisms between producers and users of statistical data and makes all data available to everyone to be utilized according to intended use.
