The Ministry of Housing has taken a remarkable step and made a qualitative leap by launching the Saudi Real Estate Institute, which represents a concrete step toward realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The time has come to elevate the concept of real estate, move toward a world of professional performance, and enter the job market with high efficiency. We have spent many years, and most workers in the real estate market operate on the principle of “hit or miss,” and the majority of real estate offices are run by foreign workers, some of whom are undocumented and lack even the basics of the profession—in fact, most of them do not even hold a formal academic degree!!

I have previously explained that real estate development and investment is a broader and more comprehensive concept than simply buying and selling land at a higher price (without any justification). It is an integrated system that begins with planning, design, and execution and ends with marketing for residential or investment purposes. It is a discipline in its own right that deserves to have an independent educational institution through which specialized real estate sciences and programs are offered, aimed at training and raising the knowledge and cultural level of those working in the real estate market. We need to produce a generation of young people who hold accredited degreesin this field, equipped with the cultural understanding, awareness, and innovative, unconventional ideas that will revitalize the sector and contribute to the development and beautification of our cities. Therefore, we thank the Ministry of Housing for this initiative.
