The Saudi Payments Network “Mada” has issued warnings that retailers at point-of-sale locations are “strictly prohibited” from swiping bank cards through their own payment terminals.

In its warning, posted via a tweet on its official Twitter account, the network stated: “Be wary of sellers swiping your card through their own point-of-sale terminal after you’ve completed payment, as this is not part of the card payment process at all and may expose your banking information to the risk of data breaches or fraudulent transactions.”
