Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs asks Municipalities to implement a centralized database project for professional licenses and building permits

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has issued a circular to all municipal secretariats regarding the implementation of a central database project for professional and building permits for all municipal sector agencies, within the framework of governance among relevant authorities to achieve Vision 2030.

The project aims to coordinate and cooperate with government agencies to streamline procedures, ensuring the implementation of the National Transformation Program 2020, and to strengthen the Ministry’s vital role as an enabler of services for other government agencies.

The Ministry has made this database available through the Municipal Integration Channel to all municipal secretariats to link it with professional and building permit systems for the purpose of automatically populating the licensing database.

The Ministry has sought to make a copy of this data available at the Ministry’s Municipal Information Center automatically and continuously upon its issuance, so that it can be made available to relevant entities upon request, given the difficulty of manually obtaining the data from municipal secretariats when such requests are received, which sometimes results in delays and data inaccuracies, and given the frequent requests from a number of government agencies (the Ministry of Housing, the Zakat and Income Authority for the Value Added Tax project), and others, specifically to provide them with professional license and building permit data.
