<“The wide-ranging efforts - to reshape and strengthen the Kingdom's real estate industry under the National Transformation Program and Vision 2030 - have been met with overwhelming support, and we will see that support materialize at this year's show,” said Ahmed Zakaria, Exhibition Director. Under the National Transformation Program, the Kingdom is looking to double the contribution of real estate to GDP to 10% by 2020, as well as triple the percentage of residential units created by certified developers to 30%. Gulf real estate investors looking to invest in Saudi Arabia have high expectations that the Kingdom's real estate market will witness significant positive developments thanks to Vision 2030, according to a new research study by Real Estate Performance Index Studies.
In light of the implementation of Vision 2030, a key driver of real estate investment, respondents were asked about the expected impact of the Kingdom's post-oil economic plan; half of the respondents expected the plan to drive development in the real estate market in Riyadh in particular, especially residential properties (33%), while 43% expected it to drive real estate development in Jeddah and Mecca respectively, and respondents also believe the plan will increase retail/commercial units and allow foreign direct investment to flow into the Kingdom.
