Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) Board of Directors open for nominations

The Saudi Contractors Authority has opened nominations for membership on its Board of Directors for the second term, and announced that all Saudi contractors wishing to run for membership on its Board of Directors for the second term must register as members no later than Saturday, 17-1-1439 AH, corresponding to October 7, 2017 AD, in order to be eligible to run.

The Contractors Authority confirmed that all Saudi contractors who are members of the Authority may run for membership on the Board, including general construction contractors, building contractors, specialized contractors, and operation, maintenance, and cleaning contractors, noting that the term of the current first session of the Board of Directors ends on Friday, March 29, 1440 AH, corresponding to December 7, 2018.

In accordance with the Authority’s regulations and its internal executive bylaws, elections for the second term of the Board will be held no less than sixty days after the end of the current term, Those wishing to run for membership on the Board of Directors must have been members of the Authority for at least one year as of the date of the elections, which is expected to be Sunday, 27-1-1440 AH, corresponding to October 7, 2018.

The Honorable Council of Ministers had previously issued Decision No. (510) dated 23-11-1436 AH establishing the Saudi Contractors Authority, granting it legal personality and independent financial liability, with the aim of developing the construction sector in the Kingdom and raising the professional standards of its workforce. The Minister of Commerce is to form the Authority’s first Board of Directors, whose members shall be individuals with an interest in the construction profession; subsequent boards shall be formed through election by the Authority’s General Assembly.
