Minister of Justice Officially Launches Commercial Courts to Begin Operations... Along with an Informative and Interactive Exhibition on the Ministry’s Initiatives

The Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Sheikh Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, today officially launched the operations of the commercial courts and the commencement of their jurisdiction under the Ministry of Justice, at a ceremony in Riyadh attended by a number of ministers, ambassadors, and experts in the fields of law, economics, and investment.

As part of the ceremony marking the launch of the commercial courts, an informative and interactive exhibition was held, featuring a number of the Ministry’s projects and initiatives. Ministry directors were present to introduce these projects and discuss with attendees the most prominent services provided to beneficiaries. The ceremony also featured a review of the historical development of the commercial judiciary, beginning with its affiliation with the Board of Grievances and culminating in its full transfer to the Ministry of Justice.

The ceremony’s activities included a specialized academic symposium discussing the implications of the opening of the commercial courts and their positive impact on improving the investment environment in the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030.

It should be noted that the commercial courts began operations on the first day of Muharram this year in three courts in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, as well as in commercial divisions in a number of cities across the Kingdom..
