The total number of commercial records registered in the names of businesswomen until the end of 1438H reached (87,575) commercial records, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment revealed.

Businesswomen in Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Medina and Taif accounted for the highest percentage of commercial records granted to women in the Kingdom, and the total records granted to women in Riyadh until the end of 1438 H (20,086) commercial records, while (13,826) records in Jeddah, followed by the city of Makkah with (5,098) records. In Taif, the total number of women's records amounted to (3,861) commercial records, and the rest of the records were distributed throughout the Kingdom. Women's activities were concentrated in several sectors, most notably: Services, trade, communications and information technology, in addition to real estate and land, operation, maintenance and cleaning of establishments, tourism, restaurants and organizing exhibitions.
The Ministry of Trade and Investment reported that it has taken a number of measures and programs during the past period to empower the role of women in society and their participation in various aspects of economic life with the aim of increasing their presence in economic and development activities in order to promote sustainable development and achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to activate women's participation in the national economy.
