The 2014 Jeddah Top Five Exhibition, inaugurated by the Mayor of Jeddah, Dr. Hani Abu Ras, was a huge and remarkable success. The event was held at the Jeddah Convention and Events Center and lasted for five consecutive days(March 9–13, 2014.) adding another chapter to its rich history in the region. This year’s exhibition saw a significant increase in participation, hosting more than 500 exhibitors from 40 different countries.Andy White, the exhibition’s executive director in the Kingdom, said: “We were delighted to welcome His Excellency Dr. Hani Abu Ras, Mayor of Jeddah, to the 2014 Saudi Big 5 Exhibition.” He added, “We witnessed unparalleled success at the Saudi Big 5 Exhibition in its previous two editions, and now that we have established the solid foundation the exhibition requires, the Saudi construction sector is undoubtedly set to continue its success and offer valuable opportunities across a number of sectors. It undoubtedly serves as an ideal platform for both suppliers and buyers to network, close deals, and learn about the latest developments in the field. The construction machinery market is projected to grow by between 30% and 35%, especially in the Western Region, thanks to mega-projects such as the proposed expansion of Jeddah Airport and the redevelopment and expansion of the city of Makkah.

As part of its program, the exhibition featured a group of regional and international experts who discussed key industry issues such as sustainability, low-emission materials and energy consumption, construction project management, interior design trends, facade design, fire safety, and the management of aging infrastructure portfolios, through several seminars organized during the event.
The Top 5 Exhibition also featured a number of other programs, including the JAYA Awards and the Top 5 Conference, which brought together industry experts and leading companies to discuss the challenges facing the contracting and construction sector under current conditions.

The Top Five Exhibition saw significant participation from several national, regional, and global companies, most notably from the sister Gulf states and some other Arab countries. The exhibition also featured notable participation from several Turkish, Malaysian, and Chinese companies specializing in the building, construction, and contracting industries .
Amlak as Media Sponsor
Amlak newspaper participated as a media sponsor for the ”Big Five Exhibition” 2014 in Jeddah, and last year the newspaper signed a media sponsorship agreement for the exhibition to strengthen its media presence regionally and globally, as the ”Big Five Exhibition” is considered one of the most important specialized exhibitions in the field of construction and building in the Middle East, This sponsorship stems from the newspaper’s commitment to expanding its support for real estate events and exhibitions both within and outside the Kingdom, given that it is the leading newspaper specializing in the real estate sector in the Gulf and the Arab world.
The Amlak booth attracted a large number of businesspeople and visitors who were eager to visit the exhibition and learn about Amlak’s experience in media coverage and sponsorship of exhibitions, conferences, and forums.
High Visitor Turnout
The Big Five Exhibition saw a high turnout of visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom throughout its duration, particularly from citizens of Gulf countries,in addition to notable participation from visitors representing a number of European, African, and Asian countries. The opening and closing days saw the highest turnout, with visitor numbers estimated in the thousands.
A large number of visitors interviewed by “Amlak” expressed their deep admiration for the advancements showcased at the exhibition, which included the best construction, design, and interior decoration technologies.
The latest study of the construction market in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries revealed that the market is currently the most active in the world, with a current value of $1.5 trillion. The study noted that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are at the forefront, with a total value of current and future construction projects amounting to $629 billion and $949 billion, respectively.
Amlak Joins “Manar Al-Omran” in Inaugurating Its New Branch
The Amlak newspaper was keen to share in the joy of a number of its clients. The newspaper’s team covering the events of the Big Five Exhibition and Cityscape Jeddah—led by Editor-in-Chief Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Issa and joined by Mr. Maher bin Salem Al-Harbi, General Manager of Manar Al-Omran and its staff, in celebrating the opening of the new branch led by Mr. Saad Al-Harbi Abu Muhammad, Manager of the Jeddah branch. With this opening, the company’s branch network has reached seventy branches.
