Media sources revealed that the number of business registrations under women’s names exceeded 153,000. The source confirmed that the Ministry of Commerce and Investment saw steady activity in the issuance of business registrations in general during the year 1438 AH, with the total number reaching 255,162 registrations—an increase of more than 20% compared to the year 1437 AH—and the cumulative total of registrations for women as of mid-Safar exceeding 153,000.”
The source noted that, as part of efforts to empower and support women in carrying out business-related activities, enhance their participation in various aspects of economic life, and provide an attractive investment environment for women, the Women’s Business Center was recently launched. It is characterized by the implementation of the concept of the “all-inclusive employee” within a new and advanced work environment that relies on modern technologies to streamline procedures and save time for businesswomen.
The source noted that the increase in the number of commercial registrations resulted from the Ministry’s efforts to facilitate business startup, pointing out that five e-services are now issued in a single step alongside the issuance of the commercial registration, namely: (Zakat and Income Tax registration, membership in the Chamber of Commerce, registration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Unified Establishment Number 1700, registration with the General Organization for Social Insurance), in addition to the Business Performance Improvement Committee (Taysir) launching the “Maras” electronic platform and the Unified Service Hub through electronic integration with relevant government agencies, which provides 40 e-services.
