In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Housing, the Governor of Al-Baha Hands Over 511 Villas and Housing Units in Al-Makhwah Governorate

In the presence of His Excellency Minister of Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail and His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Abdulaziz, Undersecretary for Branches, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Husam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Province, handed over housing units on Sunday evening to a number of citizens benefiting from the “Sakani” program as part of the Ministry of Housing project in Nawaan, Al-Makhwah Governorate, which comprises 115 villas.

His Highness the Governor of Al-Baha then unveiled a commemorative plaque for the project, which spans an area of more than 121,000 square meters and comprises 115 villas, each with a floor area of 237 square meters and consisting of two stories. Afterward, His Highness cut the ribbon at one of the villas as a model unit, where he listened to an explanation from His Excellency the Minister of Housing regarding the villa’s features.

In a press statement following the inauguration, Prince Dr. Husam bin Saud expressed his gratitude to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may God protect them both— and to the Ministry of Housing, represented by His Excellency Minister Majid Al-Hogail, for their work and efforts in housing projects in the region to serve citizens.

His Highness noted that this project is a positive step and marks the beginning of future projects the region will witness, expressing his hope for an increase in housing projects across the Kingdom, The Governor of Al-Baha affirmed that they will work with the Ministry of Housing to identify numerous future projects in Tihama and Sarat in the Al-Baha region, God willing.

For his part, Majid Al-Hogail explained that through the “Sakani” program in 2017, the Ministry of Housing was able to meet the needs of approximately 30 %‎ eligible for housing support in the Al-Baha region, by allocating approximately 3,000 housing and financing products, including housing units and developed land provided free of charge to citizens, in addition to subsidized financing.

He noted that over the past three months, reservations have been completed for numerous projects for which the Ministry announced the start of the reservation phase, totaling more than 10,000 housing units in several cities across the Kingdom.

Regarding the upcoming phase of 2018, Al-Hogail confirmed the continuation of the second phase of the “Sakani” program to achieve its target of allocating 300,000 housing and financing products, including 125,000 housing units, 100,000 subsidized loans, and 75 developed plots of land. He also highlighted the support provided by the wise leadership—may God support them—to housing projects aimed at serving citizens.
