SAMA raises the financing ratio from 85% to 90% of the value of the home

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority raised the maximum mortgage financing ratio specified in Article (12) of the Executive Regulations of the Mortgage Financing System from (85%) to (90%) of the value of the first home for citizens.

The Authority explained that increasing the maximum financing ratio for the value of a citizen’s first home will contribute to supporting the growth of the mortgage sector and align with the national housing goals outlined in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, without compromising the requirements for banking sector safety or financial stability, and will enable the banking sector and mortgage finance companies to increase financing in a way that serves citizens and meets market needs.
