The Riyadh Region Secretariat has ordered the removal of furnished apartments located on streets (30–36) meters wide in the city of Riyadh and has required their owners to convert them into residential apartments only; before September 22, 1439 AH, in compliance with the recommendation of the Municipality and the Supreme Commission for the Development of Riyadh

The Riyadh Municipality clarified in a statement published on its website that, following the third meeting of the Supreme Commission for the Development of Riyadh in the year 1434 AH, chaired by the Governor of the Riyadh Region, regarding the study of developments along streets “30–36” meters in the city of Riyadh; the Riyadh Municipality and the Projects and Planning Center of the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh recommended the following:

Adherence to residential use as stipulated in the decision of the Riyadh City Development Authority at its third meeting in 1434 AH. This does not include furnished apartments or other services; developers are given a five-year grace period to bring all uses into compliance with the Authority’s resolution and to adhere to residential use (“residential apartments”). With less than 5 months remaining in the grace period, the Secretariat urges owners of properties used in violation of residential zoning to vacate them by 22/9/1439 AH.
