The “Wafi” Off-Plan Sales and Leasing Committee has approved the removal of the off-plan status for the “Al-Badr Ikram 1” project in Makkah, meaning the project can now proceed without further reference to the committee. The project includes, according to the official website, 216 residential units that were sold during the construction phase (“off-plan sales”).

The committee noted that, under the regulations governing the off-plan sale of real estate units, the project’s land title is placed under restriction (meaning it cannot be disposed of without consulting the committee) to protect the rights of the project’s unit purchasers, and upon completion, the committee lifts the restriction so that title can be transferred to the new owners.
