Media sources reported that the Ministry of Justice has required real estate appraisers to obtain a license to practice their profession from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment.The sources explained that the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Judicial Affairs, Abdulrahman bin Nuh, issued a circular to all courts and notary offices, based on a decision by the Minister of Commerce and Investment, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Authority for Accredited Appraisers, who approved amendments to the two executive regulations of the Certified Appraisers System (Real Estate Appraisal and Economic Facilities Appraisal sections), in which he confirmed that the Authority’s transitional phase had ended, and accordingly, when appraising real estate, the “appraiser” is now required to obtain a license to practice the profession from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment.
