The Dubai Land Department (DLD) announced the development of the “Self Real Estate Disposal” project as the first digital real estate market in Dubai that allows investors to make real estate investment decisions through an integrated set of digital procedures without the need for paper documents and reducing real estate brokerage procedures.

The project is part of the “Dubai X10“ initiative approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation during the sixth session of the World Government Summit last February with the aim of accelerating the pace of development in Dubai to achieve today what other cities will develop in the next ten years.

The project comes within the framework of the ”Dubai X10" initiative.

On the strategic objectives of the project, Director General of Dubai Land Department Sultan Butti bin Mejren said: "The project aims to liberate the real estate market in Dubai from procedural restrictions, allowing property owners to trade and dispose of real estate at any time and from anywhere in the world by relying on a digital real estate work system that is one of the most advanced in the world. The project also aims to keep pace with the changes in the market and meet the needs of owners by helping them conduct all transactions without the need to come to the Department's headquarters or service centers or come to Dubai if they are from outside it." The project includes all real estate transactions such as sale and purchase as well as other services such as mortgage, which will be done directly by linking the owner with the bank through a smart application for the project so that the bank authorized by the customer can mortgage the property directly and deposit the mortgage amount in the customer's account or release the mortgage for the purpose of sale and purchase.

The project helps owners, whether in Dubai or abroad, to rent their properties without the need for property management agents and enables them to connect and pay electricity, water and internet bills, to furnish their properties by authorizing furniture and decoration companies to access the engineering drawings of the properties, in addition to managing all financial obligations of the property with owners' associations and escrow accounts for projects under completion.
