Under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, and on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Personal Representative, the Ministry of Housing is organizing a ceremony today to hand over occupancy contracts for residential units in the Al-Zallaq Housing Project to 210 beneficiaries from the waiting lists in the Southern Governorate.

The ceremony for the handover of residential unit usage contracts comes a few days after the conclusion of the electronic lottery for the project’s units, which was held last week at the Ministry of Housing building and lasted for three days, Following the receipt and notarization of the housing unit contracts, the Property Management Department is scheduled to hand over the keys to the residential units to the beneficiaries through a system of scheduled delivery appointments.

The Al-Zalaq Housing Project is one of the key housing projects covered by the Royal Directive regarding the acceleration of housing service allocation in the Southern Governorate. Earlier in August, the Ministry began allocating a number of housing projects through an electronic lottery system, including the Askar and Joo projects, in addition to the Al-Zalaq project, and the Ministry has immediately begun handing over contracts for the latter project, as it has reached full completion.

The announcement of the allocation of a new batch of housing projects under the 2014 Housing Services Distribution Program is expected in the coming days, immediately after the completion of procedures related to verifying the data on the list of beneficiaries of these projects.
