Posted in

<The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has issued regulations to facilitate the deployment of telecommunications networks during the development stages of land plans, residential, commercial and governmental projects in a coordinated and synchronized manner with other public utilities, reduce the frequency of excavation work, and achieve economic efficiency in line with international best practices. The approved regulations clarify the rights and obligations of property owners, developers and infrastructure ICT service providers with regard to the implementation of external and internal telecommunications networks, and the right to access the implemented networks fairly and without discrimination, in order to promote competition that provides high levels of performance and options for users.

<These rules will contribute to the qualification of new residential neighborhoods, government and commercial projects, and business areas and equip them with ICT facilities during the preparation of plans and construction of buildings, which will help reduce the cost of delivering ICT services to users and provide them early, and limit the re-digging of roads and inconvenience to the public, and this will reflect positively on stimulating investment in telecommunications infrastructure, enabling digital transformation and services, and enabling the provision of ICT services. CITC has invited developers to work in accordance with the issued regulations, which can be found on the CITC website (www.citc.gov.sa).
