The Ministry of Housing continued to hand over a number of free residential plots to beneficiaries of the “Sakani” program who were allocated plots in previous monthly batches. The day before yesterday, it handed over a number of plots in Al-Zulfi, Al-Dawadmi, and Hawtat Bani Tamim, as well as in Al-Qassim.
This step is a continuation of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to hand over free plots of land and completed housing units in various governorates, while the “Sakani” program announced, during the past six allocations for the current year 2018, 33,137 free plots of land covering all regions, benefiting various groups in accordance with the beneficiaries“ preferences entered into the Housing Support Portal, representing 26% of the total housing and financing options the program provides to beneficiaries each month, with most of the allocated plots located in the Makkah region—6,673 plots, accounting for 20%—followed by the Asir region with 5,381 plots, accounting for 16%, then the Eastern Province with a total of 3,911 plots, accounting for 12%, and the Jazan region with 3,800 plots, accounting for 11%.
In its second phase for the current year, 2018, the ”Sakani“ program aims to allocate 75,000 free plots of land across all regions of the Kingdom, including its various governorates and districts, with the allocation of 41,863 plots expected to be completed during the upcoming monthly batches, while beneficiaries are simultaneously inspecting the plots in preparation for their handover.
It is worth noting that the second phase of the ”Sakani 2018“ program includes the allocation of 300,000 housing and financing options, comprising 125,000 housing units in partnership with the private sector and 75,000 residential plots provided free of charge, in addition to 100,000 subsidized loans provided through a partnership between the Real Estate Development Fund and banks and financial institutions. The seventh batch of the ”Sakani” program, which includes a variety of housing and financing options, is expected to be announced on the 15th of this month.
