The Ministry of Housing has clarified that landowners who wish to build on their land may apply for a “self-build” loan through the “Sakani” program’s online portal.
Ministry spokesperson Saif Al-Suwailem noted that all applications will be processed after verifying the beneficiary’s financial capacity and readiness, as well as their eligibility, and a response will be provided within a reasonable timeframe.
He noted that the basic requirements for obtaining a “Self-Build” loan include a copy of the land title deed, proof of income, a copy of the national ID and family card. He added that there are additional requirements for which the real estate advisor will contact the beneficiary to assist them in fulfilling them, such as obtaining a building permit, securing a contractor for the project, preparing bills of quantities, and providing the beneficiary with a financing recommendation tailored to their needs and guidance on the most suitable financing institution.
