During the current Eid al-Adha holiday, the Asir Region Secretariat and its affiliated municipalities reclaimed more than two million square meters of government land that had been encroached upon at 22 sites in the Asir region.
The Secretariat’s Media Center explained that the removal of encroachments covered the governorates of “Al-Namas, Ahad Rafidah, Mahayel Asir, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Sarat Abidah, Al-Hajrah, Turaif, Bisha, and Barq,” as well as the centers of “Bani Amr, Wadi Bin Hashbal, Balalsamar, and Al-Wadiyin,” noting that the total area of the encroachments reached 2,184,070 square meters, consisting of earthen mounds, cut-off sections, and block-built sheds, as well as makeshift rooms, sheep pens, and others.
The Secretariat warned against encroaching on government lands, affirming that it will impose deterrent penalties on violators and will continue its efforts to deter trespassers by immediately removing the encroachments. All types of encroachments will be reported to the Regional Emirate for necessary action.
