Saudi banks have issued a warning about a text message that has been circulating in recent days via cell phones. The message alerts the recipient that their ATM card has been blocked under the pretext of an update, and urging them to contact a suspicious number listed in the message for this purpose, confirming that it is a scam.
Talaat Hafez, Secretary-General of the Banking Media and Awareness Committee and official spokesperson for the banks, emphasized that banks never ask customers to contact them by phone for any reason, urging people to completely ignore such messages and not respond to them under any circumstances.
