The Shura Council reiterated its call to allocate a specified percentage of the Ministry of Housing’s projects and housing units to low-income families, as part of approved housing plans, to ensure social diversity. During its 49th regular session, the Council called for expediting the handover of housing units allocated to eligible families.

The Shura Council also called on the Ministry to exercise greater transparency and to publish the roadmap and timeline for the program to deliver housing units from completed projects, emphasizing the need to intensify the Ministry of Housing’s public outreach efforts, based on providing clear information to beneficiaries of the Ministry’s services, and to consider setting a maximum income threshold for rent burdens on families eligible for social security and those in similar circumstances; as support is directed in accordance with this determination.
