According to DFM data, the number of Saudi investors registered by the end of the first half of this year amounted to 47,005 investors, led by individuals with 46,456 investors.
Real Estate Sector
<According to DFM data, the corporate sector came second with 218 companies, while sole proprietorships came third with 19 institutions and finally banks with 12 banks.With regard to the sectors most popular with Saudis, the real estate sector came first with ownership of 2.06 billion dirhams from their ownership of about 996 million shares, while the banking sector came second with 1.1 billion dirhams through 415 million shares. The transportation sector came third, in which Saudi investors own 300 million shares worth 817 million dirhams.
The rest of the sectors invested by the Saudis were distributed in basic materials, financial services, industry, insurance, private equity, telecommunications and services.
Value of long positions
During the second quarter, Saudis bought 987 million dirhams through 498 million shares and sold 747 million dirhams through 351 million shares.
