«Municipality and Rural Development» signs «5» agreements to approve private residential plans

<The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs signed on Thursday (5) agreements with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Housing, the Communications and Information Technology Authority, the Saudi Electricity Company and the National Water Company, on the updated paths and the identification and quantification (governance) of all procedures to approve private residential plans within (60) days. This comes in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to accelerate the implementation of the required urban development plans, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Acting Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs

This comes in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. The agreements signed between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, government agencies and service companies aim to enhance cooperation by enforcing the Royal Decree to approve private residential plans within (60) days, unifying efforts to accelerate urban development by speeding up the approval of residential plans, facilitating development procedures and establishing infrastructure for the plans, and achieving the principle of cooperation between government agencies and companies providing public services and joint coordination between them.

This agreement includes the agreement between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, government agencies and service companies. These agreements come to activate the updated tracks, (which are three tracks that include: Initial approval and gradual emptying, initial and final approval before implementation, and initial and final approval and sale of all plots before implementation), and achieve its objectives of encouraging investment in the real estate development sector, proposing solutions that ensure the completion and finalization of infrastructure and giving the necessary flexibility to plan owners in emptying and obtaining financing for their projects, in order to accelerate the steps and procedures to approve developers of plans and address obstacles in all sectors.

These agreements come to activate the updated paths, which are three tracks that include: initial approval and gradual emptying, initial and final approval, and sale of all plots before implementation. The mechanism of approving the updated land plans achieves many gains for the business sector, most notably finding alternatives to develop residential plans for owners and developers, giving developers and owners alternatives to financing, flexibility in development with the speed of approval, facilitating and governing procedures, and the updated paths achieve gains for citizens by increasing the supply of residential land in the developed plans.
