His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Haqeel, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the Royal Order appointing him as Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing after the merger of the Ministries of “Municipal and Rural Affairs” and ”Housing.”
He said: "I extend my thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense - may God protect them - for the precious trust, hoping that God will grant me and my colleagues at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing success in implementing the orders and directives of our wise leadership, to succeed the plans and objectives aimed at developing the country and citizen welfare in all regions of the Kingdom according to Vision 2030."
He explained that the housing and municipal sectors are important and vital sectors that affect the lives of citizens, and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has paid great attention to them within its programs to provide a decent life for all citizens in this blessed nation, stressing the continuation of efforts and work during the coming period to achieve more national achievements in the service of the homeland and the citizen.

Multiple experiences for Majid Al-Hogail
It is worth mentioning that His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, assumed the housing portfolio by a generous royal order in July 2015, then he was appointed Minister-designate of the "former" Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs on February 25 of last year 2020. He received the American Accounting Fellowship in New Mexico in 1999, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana in 1998-1999, the Executive Development Program (PED) from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) - Lausanne - Switzerland in 2007, and a Bachelor of Accountancy from King Saud University.
He has practical experience with outstanding achievements, starting with the Investment and Banking Development Departments at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) from 1990 to 1998. He also worked in a number of private sector companies in the fields of real estate development, banking, investment, insurance and aviation, and has board memberships in a number of public and closed joint stock companies and a number of non-profit organizations and entities, in addition to membership of a number of investment funds and internal audit boards.
He is a member of the board of directors of a number of public and closed shareholding companies and a number of non-profit organizations, in addition to membership of a number of investment funds and internal audit boards.
