The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has given owners of white lands a 6-month deadline to fence their lands, according to the lands concerned with fencing and in accordance with the specifications and instructions governing this; to address visual distortion by erecting a fence on them within the limits of his legal ownership.
Majid Al-Haqeel, Minister of Municipality and Housing, stressed the need to identify the lands to be fenced, indicating that the measure came based on the implementation of the initiative (addressing visual distortion) to improve the quality of life in Saudi cities, including addressing the fencing of white lands, and the importance of emphasizing what is stated in the laws and regulations in this regard. He pointed out that the Roads and Buildings Law stipulates that "the building authority shall announce every owner of a building plot within the town area to erect a fence on it within its legal boundaries within a certain period not exceeding six months from the date of the announcement" and "the owner of any building plot, once announced by the building authority, must define his land with a fence or wall within the boundaries of his legal ownership."
