The “Sakani” program reported that 111,568 families benefited from its diverse housing options and solutions during the first half of 2021, of which 87,896 families moved into their homes. This is part of the program’s ongoing efforts to enable Saudi families to become homeowners, in line with the objectives of the Housing Program—one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030— with the goal of achieving a homeownership rate of 70% by 2030.
The program announced today that the number of households benefiting from various housing solutions and options during the month of June reached 11,119, of which 9,547 moved into their homes, by using the “Sakani” app, which offers all housing options—including ready-to-move-in and under-construction residential units, residential land, and self-build options, in addition to other facilities and services—including real estate transaction tax exemption certificates, real estate advisory services, registration, and immediate eligibility—all offered through simple and accessible procedures.
The total number of households that benefited from the subsidized mortgage loan to purchase ready-to-move-in housing units during the first half of this year reached 48,397, while 34,891 households took advantage of the self-build option, approximately 15,924 families opted for residential land under the “Sakani” plans, and 12,356 families benefited from subsidized mortgage loans to purchase residential units under construction.
The program noted that implementation and construction work is continuing on projects under construction in partnership with real estate developers, with 64 housing projects experiencing rapid progress in preparation for the start of unit handover to beneficiary families, as part of 101 projects offering approximately 144,000 diverse housing units with average prices reaching 600,000 riyals, Most of these are located in major residential suburbs that offer a modern lifestyle, where a variety of housing types—including villas, apartments, and townhouses—are integrated with diverse facilities and services across various cities and provinces.
The program allows users to reserve and select all housing options and financing solutions through simple and convenient procedures via the “Sakani” app and website, as well as access to additional features such as a real estate advisor, the issuance of real estate transaction tax certificates for first homes, obtaining financing offers from lenders, the electronic issuance of land contracts, and access to architectural design services and ”approved contractors,” and the electronic financing service, as well as immediate registration, eligibility determination, and the electronic issuance of building permits.
