The Saudi Council of Engineers—represented by the Oversight and Inspection Department—— conducted inspection tours of a number of engineering sectors and facilities across various regions of the Kingdom to ensure compliance with the Engineering Practice Act and its implementing regulations, emphasizing that all facilities must adhere to the regulations.
The inspection tours covered Riyadh, Makkah, the Eastern Province, Al-Qassim, Madinah, Tabuk, Asir, Jazan, and Najran.
Engineer Saleh Al-Omar, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Council of Engineers, explained that the field inspections were conducted to monitor all activities related to professional practices at engineering firms in order to take action against violators in accordance with the Engineering Practice Law and its implementing regulations, noting that during its inspection and monitoring tours, the Authority identified 364 violations of the Practice Law and issued 132 violation reports to be referred to the relevant committee for the imposition of penalties in accordance with the law.
He emphasized that the Authority will continue its inspections and will not tolerate any violations by engineering firms or professional practitioners, and that the regulations on penalties and fines will be enforced. He added that the Authority has conducted more than 383 on-site inspection visits in various cities and provinces across the Kingdom from the beginning of this year through the end of the second quarter to monitor the quality of engineering work in the Kingdom.
