Since the beginning of this year, notaries at the Ministry of Justice have completed more than 230,000 notarization transactions, most of which focused on real estate transfers and the notarization of powers of attorney.
The total number of notarial transactions in July reached approximately 20,000, distributed among the notarization and revocation of powers of attorney, real estate transfers, and mortgages, as well as financial disclosures, corrections to real estate deeds, and the notarization of corporate contracts.
The Notary Service aims to make it easier for individuals, institutions, and companies to access notary services anytime and anywhere, with high quality and in a timely manner.
The Notary Service offers a wide range of notarial services, including the issuance or revocation of powers of attorney and the notarization of corporate contracts, as well as the notarization of real estate transfers and mortgage services—which encompass real estate mortgaging, mortgage release, property transfer while the mortgage remains in place, deed correction, and financial declaration services—which include debt acknowledgment and services for acknowledging debt repayment or waiver— and the verification of real estate deeds and powers of attorney through notaries licensed by the Ministry of Justice located throughout the Kingdom.
Beneficiaries can request notarization services through the Notary Service app, available on smart devices via the Apple App Store and Google Play, or through the service’s website, mwathiq.sa.
The Notary Service is one of the Ministry of Justice’s most prominent services, which it has outsourced to the private sector; the aim is to streamline the notarization process for beneficiaries and align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 for digital transformation, with the number of licensed notaries—both male and female—standing at approximately 2,200 since the Notarization Law was enacted, distributed throughout the Kingdom.
