“Commerce”: Having routine maintenance performed outside the dealership does not void the warranty

Posted in

Abdulrahman Al-Hussein, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, clarified that having routine maintenance performed outside of a dealership does not void the dealer’s warranty, emphasizing that consumers have the right to choose between having routine maintenance performed at an authorized dealership or at other service centers.
Al-Hussein noted that, for the consumer’s safety, they should follow the maintenance schedule, based on the vehicle’s mileage, to have routine maintenance performed on their cars. These intervals are outlined in the owner’s manual, and consumers should retain their maintenance receipts to ensure the warranty remains valid, thereby protecting consumer rights and ensuring the vehicle’s safety.
