The Riyadh Municipality announced its expansion plan to establish 5 municipal parks and squares in the southern neighborhoods of Riyadh with a total area of 51,775 square meters, in line with the ambitious targets for the capital in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.<It pointed out that it is currently working on the implementation of the Badr neighborhood park with an area of 1,750 square meters, and aims over the next few years to establish 4 other parks, namely Al-Ghanamiya Square with an area of 17,225 square meters, Ahad Square with an area of 15,750 square meters, the first Dar Al-Bayda Park with an area of 9,000 square meters, and the second Dar Al-Bayda Park with an area of 8,050 square meters.She explained that there are currently 48 parks in the southern neighborhoods of the capital, specifically within the scope of the municipalities of Al-Ha'ir, Al-Shafa and Al-Aziziyah, equipped with large green spaces, pedestrian paths and children's playgrounds.
Riyadh Municipality's steps in increasing the number of public parks come in line with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program, by raising the per capita share of green spaces and providing integrated facilities for residents and visitors of the capital throughout the city.
