“Digital Government”: Governance of digital platforms and websites in place, more than 100 domains suspended

The Digital Government Authority (DGA) has invited all government entities to register their existing digital platforms and websites through the Authority's website within 90 days, with the aim of organizing digital government work, improving the beneficiary experience, ensuring quality, maximizing the use of existing assets and investment efficiency, as well as achieving integration between government entities.
On June 30, the Authority announced the start of the governance of the establishment of digital platforms and new government websites and the submission of applications and registration of platforms through the Authority's website.

It also announced the start of activating the governance of government domains and suspending them for 106 inactive domains as an initial stage within the subdivisions (ORG.SA, GOV.SA, EDU.SA), and the Authority will gradually suspend domains that are inactive or contrary to the regulations issued, giving a specific period of time for government entities to respond and object, before the domains are closed permanently.

This aims to organize government domains on the Internet, ensure the integrity of domain records, preserve the rights of registered entities, and link them to the platforms and websites of government agencies, which facilitates the organization of digital government work and contributes to facilitating procedures and ease of access.<His Excellency the Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Engineer Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Suwayan, explained that the Authority seeks through its issuance of a number of regulations and its application of the governance of digital platforms and websites to organize digital government work and contribute to improving the regulatory and investment environment to reach a proactive and proactive digital government capable of providing reliable and highly efficient digital services, to contribute to meeting the needs of beneficiaries safely and reliably, stressing that the Authority will analyze and study existing platforms, applications and websites after registering them according to the regulations issued for the governance of platforms and the regulatory framework
