His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing for Customer Experience and Customer Services and General Supervisor of the General Directorate of Partnerships and International Cooperation, a virtual meeting with a number of experts in the field of 3D printing from U.S. companies, in the presence of the CEO of the National Housing Company, Engineer Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Bati.
His Royal Highness reviewed the efforts of the housing system to provide adequate housing for Saudi families, with the continued support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince —may God protect them both—to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program, one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, aimed at raising the homeownership rate to 70% by the year 2030.
The Deputy Minister for Customer Experience and Customer Services highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to regulate the housing sector and promote its balance by providing an integrated housing environment that meets quality-of-life standards, in partnership with the private sector—including qualified contractors and developers—which resulted in an increase in the homeownership rate from 47% to 60% in 2020.
The meeting addressed the most notable achievements of the Modern Construction Program and the facilities and solutions it offers to support the use of 3D printing, with the aim of improving construction quality and accelerating the pace of unit completion in the residential real estate sector, boost investment in the sector to increase the supply of residential real estate, raise the local content in residential projects, and expand the sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product.
The meeting also explored opportunities for joint cooperation with U.S. companies in the municipal and residential construction sectors, given the growing demand and ambitious development plans in Saudi cities.
