The “Sakani” program reported that the number of families benefiting from the housing options and financing solutions it offers has grown to 145,309 from the beginning of 2021 through the end of August, of which 115,,038 of whom have moved into their homes. This is a continuation of the program’s efforts to provide affordable housing solutions and services to enable Saudi families to own homes with immediate eligibility, in line with the Housing Program’s targets to reach a homeownership rate of 70% by 2030.
He explained that the options available to Saudi families included ready-to-move-in housing units, units under construction, residential land, self-build options, and a number of other housing services such as (issuance of certificates covering real estate transaction taxes, access to real estate advisors, registration, immediate eligibility, and architectural designs), all through simple and accessible procedures via the “Sakani” app.
From the beginning of 2021 through August, a total of 61,886 households benefited from subsidized mortgages to purchase ready-to-move-in housing units, while 45,816 households benefited from self-construction, 22,431 households from residential land, and 15,176 households benefited from subsidized mortgage loans to purchase residential units under construction.
He noted that implementation and construction work continues on housing projects currently under construction in partnership with real estate developers, with the aim of beginning handover to beneficiary families. These 106 projects provide 146,000 diverse units with average prices reaching 700,000 riyals, andMost of these are located in major residential suburbs that offer a modern lifestyle, integrating a variety of housing types—including villas, apartments, and townhouses—with diverse facilities and services in Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, and Khamis Mushait.
The program allows users to reserve and select all housing options and financing solutions through simple and accessible procedures via “Sakani,” in addition to benefiting from additional services such as a real estate advisor, obtaining price quotes from financing institutions, the electronic issuance of land contracts, access to standard architectural designs and certified contractors, as well as immediate registration and eligibility, and the electronic issuance of building permits.
