The September 2021 report on the “Sakani” program revealed the launch of a number of new housing services for program beneficiaries via the “Sakani” website and app.

The report included the number of beneficiary families, housing projects currently under construction, and the number of real estate deeds issued electronically as part of the program’s efforts to enable Saudi families to own their first home, with the aim of increasing the homeownership rate to 70 percent by 2030, in line with the objectives of the Housing Program—one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The report indicated that the number of real estate transaction certificates for first homes issued from the program’s inception through the end of August 2021 reached 542,164, highlighting the housing and financing solutions offered by the program, including subsidized mortgages in cooperation with banks and financial institutions for the purchase of ready-to-move-in units, units under construction, or self-build projects for those who own land, as well as the reservation of residential land within the 223 “Sakani” plans, which provide more than 180,000 plots.

The report noted that more than 145,000 families have benefited from all the housing and financing options and solutions made available by the program as of August 2021, of which 115,000 families moved into their homes within eight months, while the number of households benefiting from the program in August reached 21,000 new households, of which more than 17,000 have moved into their homes.

The report reviewed the latest construction updates on 82 projects that have begun implementation to provide more than 120,000 diverse housing units, ranging from apartments to villas and townhouses, featuring high quality, affordable prices, and meeting quality-of-life standards. The report also addressed the launch of four new housing projects: the “Al-Andalusiyah” and ”Mila” in the Khayala district of Jeddah, as well as “Rawa” in the Al-Jawan district of Riyadh, and ”Aris Residential” in Al-Khobar, among 106 projects under construction providing more than 146,000 diverse units.

The “Sakani” website and app added four new services, including “Real Estate Marketplace” to facilitate the sale and purchase of ready-to-move-in housing units, ”Online Financing” in partnership with several financial institutions, ”Interior Design” as part of post-housing services, and ”Certified Contractors” for beneficiaries of the self-build option, in addition to integrated electronic services ranging from registration and immediate eligibility checks, reserving residential units and land after inspecting their locations and learning about their features, ”price quotes,” real estate advisory services, ”architectural designs,” issuing building permits for self-build beneficiaries, and other services.
