The total statistical figures for the number of workers in real estate professions in the Kingdom that fall within the entity of «collection offices and real estate services», amounted to about 37,358 workers «including about 12,328 Saudis by 33%.
With the entry into force of the application of the decision to localize 70% of the total workers in establishments operating in the targeted real estate activities, provided that the number of Saudis in the establishment is not less than one Saudi employee as a minimum, and to limit work to Saudis by 100% for workers in the targeted professions, starting last Friday, the Director of Localization of the Real Estate Sector in the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Mohammed Al Masoudi, expected that the decision will create 13 thousand new job opportunities in establishments operating in real estate activities distributed as follows: 11 thousand jobs in real estate brokerage: 11,000 job opportunities in real estate brokerage, 1,000 job opportunities in sustainable construction, 500 job opportunities in the owners" union, and 500 jobs in real estate arbitration.
37 thousand workers
Al Masoudi, who was speaking at a virtual seminar, entitled: »Localization in the real estate sector,« organized by the General Authority for Real Estate, announced that the total statistical figures for the number of workers in real estate professions in the Kingdom currently, which fall under the entity of »collection offices and real estate services" 37,358 workers, 33% of whom are Saudis, 67% expatriates, explaining that an agreement was recently signed between the Human Resources Development Fund and the General Authority for Real Estate to train and employ job seekers who wish to work in the real estate sector, pointing out that the Saudization decision will contribute to raising the skill level of Saudis in line with the needs of the labor market, and contribute to raising the participation rate of Saudis.
Real Estate and Construction
The Director General of the Real Estate and Contracting Sector, Abdulrahman Al-Shehri, pointed out that the ministry launched the »Tawteen" program, which aims to employ 115 thousand Saudi youth by the end of 2021 in the private sector and job sustainability in the following 6 sectors: 30,000 in legal, engineering and accounting professions, 10,000 in tourist accommodation, 22,000 in restaurants and cafes, 14,000 in transportation and logistics, 23,000 in real estate and construction, and 16,000 in the health sector.
Franchising
The Director General of Business Development and Partnerships at the General Authority for Real Estate, Mutaib Al-Sulaimani, emphasized during the seminar on activating a new pattern in the real estate sector, which is to provide services from service providers »individuals«, according to qualification from the Real Estate Institute and a license from the General Authority for Real Estate, which gives regularity to service providers and reliability by issuing free work documents for them electronically. The Authority can count the number of service providers, record the renewal of the license from the Authority according to the updated and planned training packages at the Real Estate Institute, and enable individuals working in the private or government sector to obtain an official license to practice self-employment, with the ability to open a bank account or register in social insurance, while providing an access program for support through the Development Bank.
He said: Monsha'at, represented by the Franchise Center, is the entity concerned with documenting franchise contracts between the franchisor and the franchisee, and the importance of listing trusted brands in the General Real Estate Authority on the franchise platform in identifying the brands that can be franchised directly from franchisors, benefiting from other Monsha'at services, and classifying the size of the real estate establishment.
