The National Water Company and ”National Housing” —the operator and commercial operations manager for the "Ijar" program—today launched a service to link water meters to notarized lease agreements in the rental network, through which water meters are electronically transferred to the name of the actual beneficiary of the property unit during the contract notarization process.

In a joint press release, the National Water Company and the National Housing Company explained that the linking process helps improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries—both landlords and tenants—through real estate brokers, and optionally allows for the transfer of water services from the landlord to the tenant and the issuance of a water bill in the tenant’s name for the property, and enables them to pay it directly without having to go through the landlord or agent during the lease term, with the service covering Saudi tenants in all cities across the Kingdom.

This collaboration between the National Water Company and "National Housing" aims to enable tenants to manage water services for their homes and regulate consumption, as well as reducing disputes arising from the previous system of bill collection and payment through the landlord or real estate broker.
