“Itmam” Approves Plans Covering 36 Million Square Meters Through the Third Quarter of 2021

The Real Estate Developers Services Center “Etemam” the approval of 13 residential projects during the third quarter of 2021, covering an area of 19.09 million square meters across all cities and regions of the Kingdom. This brings the total number of projects approved by “Etam” from the beginning of the year through the third quarter—to 22 residential plans, covering an area exceeding 36 million square meters. This aligns with the center’s strategic goal of improving the performance of the real estate sector and providing integrated solutions to real estate developers.
“Etmam” explained that the approved plans covered the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Al-Qassim, the Eastern Province, and Tabuk. Meanwhile, the diverse services provided by the “Etemam” Developer Services Center—during the third quarter of 2021 to real estate developers and residential project owners—included processing a number of building permit applications for approximately 4,100 residential units, the issuance of 53 qualification certificates to real estate developers for off-plan sales projects, as well as the processing of endorsement requests to register workers in the Ministry’s projects, providing for 4,392 workers. The Center also issued 30 sales licenses for off-plan projects and qualified 765 real estate developers, in cooperation with the authorities responsible for providing real estate development services.
The Center provides a unified platform and an advanced digital portal containing all the services a real estate developer needs; to enable them to access services easily and with high confidence, in addition to establishing the principle of transparency by clarifying the procedures associated with the services, and making all data and statistics available that real estate developers can benefit from.
It is worth noting that the Real Estate Developers Services Center “Etmam” aims to create an attractive environment in the Kingdom’s real estate sector, with the goal of increasing investments in the sector from within and outside the Kingdom, and increasing the number of residential projects; to boost the annual growth of the housing supply; to facilitate Saudi families’ access to suitable housing, and to reach a homeownership rate of 70% by 2030, in line with the targets of the Housing Program (one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030), through the signing of partnership and cooperation agreements, and its permanent representatives to the relevant authorities, which enables real estate developers to track their transactions throughout the various stages of project implementation.
